The Pima County Sheriff's Department will be hosting Dispose-A-Med events intermittently throughout the year. These events are offered free of charge thanks to a grant provided by the Department of Justice.
We WILL accept the following items:
- Gel Caps
- Medicated Patches
The following items will not be accepted:
- Metal or glass inhalation aerosol bottles
- Diabetic test strips
For safety and confidentiality reasons, any items turned over for collection cannot be returned. We do not accept drugs from commercial organizations. For information about the disposal of needles and syringes, please visit the Pima County Health Department website. Visit the site to also find a listing of permanent disposal locations.
Dispose-A-Med Bin Locations
Our Green Valley, Rincon, Foothills, San Xavier, Tucson Mountain, and Ajo stations offer a drop-off bin for unused prescription drugs and over the counter medications. These bins are accessible Monday - Friday from 8:00 am-5:00 pm.
